Phillies to Host World Champion Red Sox in '08

Two of the elite teams in
the American League, the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim,
will visit Citizens Bank Park as part of the National League Eastern
Division champion Phillies’ 2008 home schedule.
For the second straight year, the Phillies will open and close the
season at home.
Opening Day is
scheduled for Monday, March 31, against the
Washington Nationals. A three-game series with the Nationals
will close the regular season, September
26-27-28.
The Red Sox and Angels,
with three games each, make up the June 16-22 homestand. The American
League Champion Red Sox are in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and the
Angels for the weekend. It will be the first Citizens Bank Park
appearance for the American League West Division champion Angels.
Schedule Notes
Interleague play also brings
the Toronto Blue Jays to town for a May weekend (16-18). On the road, the
Phillies will play the Texas Rangers and Oakland A’s.
The only four-game series
at home are against the Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, Los Angeles
Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers.
On-Deck Series
As has been a tradition
since Citizens Bank Park opened in 2004, the Phillies will host a Major
League team in a two-game On-Deck Series.
The Phillies will play the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, March 28 and
Saturday, March 29.
Schedule updates, game
times, promotions and television dates will be posted on phillies.com as
they occur during the off-season.
