Annual Pitch, Hit & Run Event Scheduled April 19 at Bowman
Finals to be
held at Yankee Stadium - FREE For Kids age 7-14
PITCH, HIT & RUN
is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. This
grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity
to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual
excellence in core baseball skills.
Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2008 Major League All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium.
Up to 16 local contestants can advance to the next round. The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group from the qualifying competition at Bowman Field will advance to the next level of competition.
Bats and balls will be provided and metal spikes are prohibited. All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and a registration/waiver must be completed by parents prior to the start of competition Registration will be held only on the day of the event at Bowman Field.
