September 7 - The Williamsport Crosscutters lost their final game of the 2007 campaign, a 5-2 decision to the Batavia MuckDogs.  The Cutters delighted a crowd of over 2,000 fans with an early 1-0 lead.  Matt Spencer doubled in Dominic Brown to stake Joe Savery to the lead.  The MuckDogs answered with two runs in the second inning on Savery and knocked the Crosscutter’s starter out of the game.  Batavia added a run in the top of the seventh, a tally that Williamsport was able to counter in the home half of the inning.  Dominic Brown scored on an error by MuckDogs pitcher Brandon Garner, the fourth of five Batavia errors during the game.  Despite those mistakes, Batavia added runs in the eighth and ninth to seal the final margin.  Garner earned the win, while Savery (2-3) took the loss.  In the loss, Brown extended his hitting streak to 13 games to end the year.

Dominic Brown led the Crosscutters with a .295 average in a Cutters record 74 games.  Matt Spencer had a team-high nine runs batted in, while Tyler Mach drove in 38 to lead the club.  Drew Naylor paced the pitching staff with eight wins and a Cutters record 97 strikeouts.  Chance Chapman held a team-low 2.09 earned run average, while Matt German led Williamsport with seven saves, despite a mid-July promotion to Lakewood.  Williamsport finished the season 34-42 and in fourth place in the New York-Penn League’s Pinckney Division.
